Gizmo Chassis System
Introducing the NerdRC Gizmo chassis. Available in multiple rail materials to custom tailor your Nerd style!
Four nerds spent 7 months competing with prototypes of this chassis, adjusting as they went, to get what they feel is the best class 1 chassis according to current RCMCCA rules. This super versatile chassis was designed around maximizing crawling efficiency while keeping a small, nimble footprint.
This kit as great for beginner enthusiasts wanting to dip their toe into customizing their scx24, and a must have for the seasoned tinkerer wanting the ultimate micro crawling sleeper. Designed around the 133.5mm scx24 wheelbase, stock size or smaller tires, and stock axle housings, the Gizmo is here to show you bigger isn't always better. Heck, we even entered the mighty little Gizmo in class 3 competitions and walked away with wins... multiple times!
While my favorite link geometry for this chassis is Deadbolt, I have now tested extensively with Cbolt, Deadiator, Gremlin, and Gladiator as well. They all provide excellent performance on this chassis. C10 has not been tested as much with this chassis, but been proven to fit. Your rear shock mounting options will be limited.
I now provide team spec sliders as the default slider for all chassis. If you would like geometry specific sliders please go check out the slider page, they are still a dollar a set.
The kit features:
- 2 Gizmo rails optimized for a small skid plate and frame mounted upper links.
- Minimal footprint center skid
- Team Spec Sliders
- 1 front body mount
- NEW! 1 GX470 front body mount for use with stock rear hinge
- 1 low rear body mount
- 1 low mount electronics tray
- 1 stubby "legality" bumper for RCMCCA class 1 regulations
- NEW! 1 low stubby "legality" bumper- a personal favorite of mine
- 1 longer bumper to be used front links longer than Deadbolt
- DOES NOT COME WITH HARDWARE
- I recommend picking up a pack of tiny nuts for mounting upper links if you do not have them.
Notes:
- To run the front bumper and sliders you will most likely have to trim the bottom of your lexan bodies up front in the rear and on the rocker panels. Don't worry though, the performance of this rig will be well worth the sacrifice.
- The links will work fine with a stock link riser, but they will come very close to contact between the upper and lower links. A higher rear link riser is recommended.
- All printed materials will be made of PETG-CF, which is a sturdy material, but please note printed parts are not covered unless deemed the fault of the product. I hold no liability for Parts broken by brute force or improper assembly.
Please assemble with care and pre-thread screws into all parts before installation.
Stay nerdy!
